			You guys on the other side of the drink,call em Hoods.Ok as Im asking for advice on a USA site Ill use the American term! Finally managed to panel front end up.The more attentive, will notice that we are using a carbon hood.Now security/fastening options need to be explored.Ive seen stories of fibreglass hoods,deciding to "unlatch" themselves at speed, and the obvious nasty consequences that can follow. Wondering if this occurance is due to the failure of the fittings in the hoods,or maybe the "twisting" of the panel which might be a factor in the "unlatching"? To prevent this from maybe happening,Id like some advice regarding what options you guys use for hood security.I could just use the factory latch.The fittings in the hood are bonded in steel.Pretty sure that they are of sufficient strength.However, the prospect of the panel twisting/lifting at speed,stays in my mind. Just for info.Car is a hotrod, therefore no restrictions,apart from those rubber RS things,that I dont like.Of course standard pins are an option,usually though one of you guys have invented or discovered some devilshly clever design!   | ||

			I have a fiberglass hood with the factory latch and at speed (130+) have never had an issue. If others have opened during driving I would suspect that to be due to incorrect adjustments on the latch mechanism. Once my hood is closed it takes a good two hands of pressure to secure it down against the seal to latch. The front lip of the hood sits nicely pressing down on the seal so very minimal air can get underneath to somehow force it up.

			Fibreglass holds tend to buckle down with the force of the air on them.However if you have an air leak at the front it might blow it open. As said above, make sure it is sealed properly and has the safety latch too.

			You could always add a cable that’s just long enough for you to reach in and unhook, so if the hood unlatched it would only come up a little bit and you could pull over and fix it.
