Beetle V8, Father of Porsche

Now that I have your attention, you have got to see this Beetle. This is probably the worst air-cooled to V8 conversion I have ever seen!

Chuck, did you put on the wrong set of glasses this morning? It's not even a V-8 ... try a 2300 cc Pinto engine!

Warren - you're correct - sorry for the mis-lead. I read "Ford Mustang" and immediately thought V-8.

Do you wonder the radiator gets cooling air when the hood is closed? Don't see any vents or air holes.

Chuck ... from the photos in that ad ... I see no evidence that it has ever run at all! Probably just a few more 'details' for the prospective owner to work out ... I suppose! Maybe a trip to the crusher on a flatbed would be justice to the sacrilige created, no doubt, after a 'bad' LSD trip!

I think it's driven with the baseball bat in place and the periscope-looking thingie lets the driver see the road.

Ewwwwww.

I try not to bad mouth anyone else's project, but that one is too much for even me to take.

Kind of like Rocky Horror meets Junk yard wars.

Finally. Now here's somebody who's on the right track! If you're going to put American iron in an air-cooled German automobile, put it in the front where it belongs. -- Curt

This thing's still a rear-engined car, folks.

He keeps it in reverse and uses the periscope to see where's he's going.

How else could you explain the cooling vents in the wing?

Personally, I would've picked puce instead of fuscia.

Cool

Recreational drugs have weird side effects.

Good luck,
