swinging back to the 3.2 cars, here's an '87 from a broker. 92K, records for the last 2 years (none before that :( ). Has a tail and Linen interior which are not my fav. A few small dash cracks, and the L door and LR fender have been reshot at some point. Have only seen these pics. Supposedly solid mechanically (he drove it back from Vegas to SF) but the sunroof doesn't work, and it is unknown whether the clutch has been done. $18K. My gut reaction is to keep looking...I'd have a much better idea if I could actually see it in person, but I'm not sure if it is worth imposing on a Pelican to check it out. I really don't like dash cracks (but can forgive them on an early car for some reason). Also is it the angle, or does the gap on the pass door look off?

Thoughts?

If the L door and LR fender have been reshot, the car was hit at some point.

Dash cracks? On an '87?! My '81 doesn't have dash cracks and it's been in Arizona since '83!!!!

$18K is way too much money for that car.

It was originally described as having no tail, very clean blue interior, all records and somewhat tired paint. $18K for that car seems fair to me. Of course, this doesn't appear to be that car...so I'm in agreement.

THE CAR WOULD BE WORTH $18K TO A NEWBE WHO DOESNT VALUE A CAR FOR ITS HISTORY. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A KEEPER FROM THE MID TO LATE 80`S YOU SHOULD KEEP LOOKING. I HAVE SEEN THESE CARS WITH 2O-30K MILES IN IMACULATE SHAPE SELLING AT ABOUT 20K . ITS WORTH THE EXTRA 2K IN MY OPINION .
BUT IF YOU ASK ME I WOULD LOOK FOR A 69-73 CAR(there holding value very well) BUT IM NOT THE ONE SHOPPING. GOOD LUCK

What happened with the 70T/S?? Looks great in the photo! I think you need to decide what you want before looking at more cars - going from a 70 to an 87 is like night vs. day!!! -- Curt

The chartreuse one looks nice, but at $18.5K it's a bit pricey. Not necessarily that it isn't worth it, but I fear it is probably so nice I won't want to drive it. If the price comes down a bit I might check it out.

The white T/S is still in the running, but again I think it is too much money for what it is. $14.5K and needing bodywork is a bummer...especially considering Chuck's purchase this weekend.

I've got a line on an '81 that is higher miles (140K) but has had the same owner for the last 10 years, and is supposed to be "very nice" at $12K. I will see that one tomorrow. As far as I can tell, the "right one" for me is anything between '67-'89 that is clean, well kept, and not a ton of money. But as I've been told before on other matters, "good, fast, cheap...pick any two".
