Anyone reconize this fuel cell maker or model?

Hey guys ...

So Im looking around the net for fuel tanks today for my rsr build. I was going to go with a 110L plastic tank (a repro not orig) but at 3-5K Im looking into other options as well. Found a few makers but I have a photo of a another RSR build and its fuel cell. It doesn't look like any IVe seen before. Anyone recognize it? It doesn't look like any fuel safe or ATL tank Ive seen before. Thanks

that looks nice but i doubt it is FIA rated, therefore you probably wouldn't be able to run it at the track.

if you are going to get an aftermarket fuel tank, get something that is at least certified otherwise if you are ever in an accident and it causes a fire, things could get litigious fast... something to think about... remember the pinto?

Thanks. Looks as if it has a bladder like most other cells. Are the orig or repro 110L plastic tanks rated at all? I like that it has all the connections on the top of the tank on a removable piece so the tank doesn't cant be stripped out.

Wow, this Signal Yellow 911 is gorgeous. Anyone know the details of this car?

I got it off pelican on a thread about 911 RSR replica and how much they are worth a while back. There were a few pics of it but I dont remember if any more info was posted on it. I think the tank looks 100% better then some other fuel cells .. hence my curiosity.

Check this one out. We have sold a few of them, but never applied for sfi ratings. Yes, the bladder and fittings are made from all the correct materials, but again, we never applied for the rating. Just not enough call for these at $4.5k to justify the additional expense of the ratings application. This is a fairly good replica of the 100 liter tank and made here in usa. The outer shell is kevlar and fiberglass

Fuel Safe in england can make you a 100L replica that has some sort of rating, that uses a fiberglass, and i think costs even more, with shipping/ duty/ and exchange ratehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1353360957.jpg

fwiw- the original and repro plastic factory tanks carry no sfi or fia rating whatsoever . Putting foam in them does nothing to increase the safety as there is no bladder to contain the fuel in case of housing damage

Here is a pic of the bladder for the above container

Thanks Dave! $4500 .. wow. Do you have any idea on the tank in the orig pic of the signal yellow rsr? Im either going to do the plastic rsr 110L or something along the lines of the one in the pic.

TRE Cup 11-19-2012 12:50 PM

yep.. 4500 and more if you wanted trick filler caps. Sigh... custom stuff ain't cheap :)

Premier in europe makes a lot of fuel cells and they use external flange construction on some of their product. You might want to google them and see if its their offering

I realize this more and more as my rsr build develops. Im just glad I have 90% of my project parts already. Its getting ridiculous .. but as the saying goes ... gotta pay to play .

Still need to call you about my roll bar and final bits ... its been a hectic week. Soon .. I promise.

Thanks for the lead on the premier tank. Ill check it out.

So after a long night searching on the internet I found the tank. The car was made by Gunnar Racing. Here is a link to a Martini RSR they built and the tank mold is at the bottom.

Gunnar Racing

Cant find any links to the Signal Yellow RSR. But my goal of finding the origin of the tank is complete. Thanks Guys.
