Rebel Racing - Where is Clint?

Voice mail is full and hasnt responded to e-mails for past week. On vacation? Need to get my front spindles raised and de-cambered asap. Any other vendor options?

Trog 11-19-2012 11:43 AM

Try Chuck at ER.

Morefun 11-19-2012 11:54 AM

Chuck can raise the spindles but apparently does not have the equipment to de-camber...

Shocking 😏

He is probably there, but VERY hard to get ahold of. I have tried buying things from him recently, almost impossible.

Nice guy if you can get a hold of him though...

175K911 11-19-2012 02:03 PM

Just talked to him today about 3pm central time. He was machining parts.

Morefun 11-19-2012 02:39 PM

Well after trying several times to get him by phone, I can't wait, so the struts are on their way to Chuck to have the spindles raised along with an order for decambered ball joints and a bump steer kit.

winders 11-19-2012 02:57 PM

Why in the world would you go with decambered ball joints when you can get your struts decambered when you have the spindles raised?

It's not like Clint is the only option for that....

Scott

Morefun 11-19-2012 04:14 PM

You are right its not the best option but, the only option I could find. Scott, do YOU have a ready source that can do the job? It's not too late, share it!

winders 11-19-2012 04:46 PM

On the west coast, I would check with Jerry Woods Enterprises (CA), Rothsport (OR), or Rennsport (OR).

There have to be shops on the east coast......any of the shops that race prep air-cooled 911's will either do it or know who does.

Scott

So, my tech (air cooled race shop) tells me that plenty of people can raise the spindles but few can decamber as well. He aded that Chuck can be counted on to deliver. Thanks, I'll call the shops you referenced.

Flieger 11-19-2012 08:58 PM

I never got an email about this. Did you send anything to max@rebelracingproducts.com? I am the one to go to if you don't reach Clint directly in a satisfactory time frame.

I'm not a fan of de-cambering spindles.

While it does get you more camber, it comes at the expense of other undesirable geometry changes.

Specifically it makes the scrub radius more positive. This causes several undesired consequences including heavier steering effort, more kickback when hitting bumps, and more.

There are better ways to get the camber you want without those un-desireable tradeoffs. Specifically camber plates, de-cambered ball joints, or adjustable length control arms.

For the spindle raising, we'll get you taken care of quickly. Our typical turnaround is 2-3 biz days.

Thanks Chuck for the insight. I'm learning! Scott from Auto Associates in Connecticut is shipping out my struts to you for you to tweak. You may have already spoken. Puts this issue to rest!

Morefun --
For future reference, a semi-local resource for you would be Jerry Pellegrino at EPE performance in Natick, MA.

EPE About Us

He does tons of aircooled and watercooled p-car race prep. His bread and butter is putting 3.2s and 3.6s in early cars.

Jerry is also a PCA driving instructor and his shop is always full of very nice hardware...sometimes I stop by just to drool ;)

Cut and paste the following if you use google:

site:forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/ clint

It's good for a laugh, there have been quite few "Where's Clint?" threads.

In his defense he does do nice work and when (if?) he answers his emails he seems to take his time to answer questions thoroughly.

He raised some spindles for me and it took a long time to get them back but he does nice work.

Flieger 11-20-2012 02:58 PM

Use this email:

max@rebelracingproducts.com

That's what it's there for.

Morefun 11-20-2012 03:20 PM

No dising of Clint implied or intended! Nice guy with great products. My situation just couldn't wait...

brads911sc 11-20-2012 03:47 PM

If i am like most users i dont log on to Pelican to see which person to contact for every vendor. I go on their website.. and if they dont answer the email/contact us or the phone the first time... I move on to another vendor.
If you are the only one who responds... may want to have the others deleted. Here is what I see.

Email: admin@rebelracingproducts.com
sales@rebelracingproducts.com
clint@rebelracingproducts.com
max@rebelracingproducts.com

If I was looking for something, Id email the Sales email. But some may recognize Clint and email him. Another idea is to have the "sales" email forwarded to you.

Are you blaming the customer here?
