New York, New Jersey, Connecticut Fall Run!
I can't believe it has been almost a year since the last run! I think it is time to start planning the Fall run. Last year was a lot of fun, I think we had 8 or 9 local Pelicans.
I'll start the thread again, let's see who we can get. Between work and holidays it looks like October is going to be the best for me. I'm pretty open for most weekends during the month. So I'll throw the 2nd, 9th and 16th out there. Let me know if you have a preference for Saturday or Sunday. The route was fun last year but I welcome any other suggestions. For those who missed it we met around exit 5 on the Palisades, bombed our way up to Bear Mountain, climbed to the top, took some pics, wound our way down, across the Bear Bridge into the twisties and back again across the bridge, paraded into the West Point area (remember the waving town folk?) for some eggs and coffee! My daughter Hannah was the only kid last year and I think we should open it up to the non-carsick youngsters again... So chime in! And some pics to remind you!

I will certainly join the group! Anytime in Oct is pretty good... A sunday run sounds best.., less traffic potential.

I'm in too; Sunday may be tougher for those of us who have to go to/through NYC to get home, as the returning foliage gawkers may clog things up a bit Sunday afternoon on their way back to NYC/LI.

Ticket as in NJ State Police? Last year the lead car (black 930) had the radar detector and it wasn't needed didn't see a single trooper....

are 912s welcome. Would I have a chance of keeping up. I drive the bear mountain roads and the palisades all the time. Not in my 912 though because it is currently being restored. This would be a great first event for the car.

bigbrotherjohn, don't worry about the speed factor either, I brought up the rear last year and still stayed close...although I think my oiling issues are behind me now so perhaps I'll be able to hang closer to the front!

Hi Adam! I'd like to hook up again with you guys. This get-together should act as a deadline for me as I've been struggling with some cutting out issues for the past month and haven't really sorted them out yet. I'm hoping to swap coil and CDI box with another 930 owner to rule that out. Hope to be back out there again with a son or two in tow!

Hey Adam,
Good for you for getting this thread started. I'm in, and I'll clear the calendar as best as I can. Let's get a date set for now. I'm sure my brother will make the time too with the 944. I'll be a bit more careful this year, I don't want to drive off of the mountain like I almost did last year. However, bigger wheels and fatter tires now, so maybe I'll hammer it more. Regards,

Great Jon! There were a couple of semi close calls last year but nothing too bad...right....Those 9's will come in handy and I'm looking forward to seeing some real live Al Reed handywork!
So does October 16th look like the date we should shoot for? Saturday, 9:00 AM departure from the gas station and parking/ride at exit 5 off the Palisades... Still need to here from Oliver and Paul and any others that made the run last year.... Some more pics from last year....
