Transformation of 76 911S to 993 911GT

I joined about 1 year ago , but never formally introduced my self , My name is Helio, and this my 1976 911S - 993 911GT clone I have owned her for 21 years, When bought in 1990 ,It was just a plain jane 911S w/ 2.7. I was 22 years young , fist thing I did was widen the rear fenders , Carrera style , front valance and H5 head lights then up grade the susp to an 86 incld the brakes ,sway bars etc, followed by 1988 3.2 . then installed light weight fly wheel and clutch pkg, chip , cat bypass, K&N filter and a B&B muffler,
I mainly drag raced her, then I found PCA, I did some auto cross and DE's , Back in the day Cool Carbon pads where a good upgrade and ATE blue and BF-G's wow my lap times went down,

I now addicted to more performance in 1995 I saw a 993 911 GT2 fell in love with the style, I couldn't by the car, but I could trans form my 76 911S , what looked like an 86 Carrera by now. so in in the late summer 1996 I started and finished early spring 97

My goal , well the 1995-96 911GT was 2850 pounds and 430 hp , the street version with 225 F and 285 R . I wanted to be lighter and more powerful and handle almost as good,

FRONT, B&B full width oil cooler, 993TT brakes w/ custom hats, brake bias adjuster, 22mm torsion bars, RSR Bielstien shocks, Tarrett mono ball shock tops and sway bays, Kinesis fully forged 245-40-17 ( out dated next set will be 18's speedlines)

REAR, Elephant racing 935 style spring plates ,RSR coil overs 500lbs , Custom valved 125/325, 965 3.6 rear brakes caliper 930 rooter , 315-30-17 Cut the torsion bar tube.

TRANS, G50-01 Patrick Motorsports strengthened bell housing ( I broke the 1st one)
8;32 R/P gives me 163 at 7300 rpm's ,KEP 600 lite, clutch pkg , stock fly wheel,G50 peddle assembly and axles.

I got my photos out and scanned them , 65 0f them of the body work done to the car back in 1996, The car started as 1976 911S , I bought the in 1990, drove with some mods, then I decided to change it to 993 Carrera RS look with 3.2, in 1998 911GT with turbo motor G50 etc.

THE BODY KIT, 1996 A.I.R American International Racing 993 turbo, The body work was done by my friend who worked for N.A.S.A and axis to the best bonding agents , so no cracking, very strong stuff, the oil tank had to be modified to fit the rear bumper, RSR tail while it was a 3.2, The color is Comp yellow, with matching roll bar and seat backs , RSR carpet kit ,door panels and carbon fiber dash. At that time I did alot of track events , The looked good but missing the small details,

1998 the 911GT look and mod's , replaced the front bumper to the GT style, GT flairs and tail, also changed to a 993 hood ( notice the window washer of on the hood) 964 dual spring wipers, they are lower profile,

I also changed the door window frames the 993 style and the rear quarter windows to 993 ones also and all the body seal where changed to 993 ones, at the rear bumper I also added the alum trim around the muffler tips like the factory , front grill , I also added the emergency front hood release cable , 993 head light release mech, 993 wiring harness for the lighting with relays, Porsche Lictronic head lights ,

In 2008 I married with 3 small kids not much time for track days, out went the roll bar and race seats in with plus carpet and sound deadening , RSA power seats, that works.
Heat, 993 upper and lower dash and 993 back seats, updated the seat belts to the top of the rear deck, 993 sun visors and 993 front hood release mech ( what a deference that made) The big big change was the instruments gauges, chrome 356 style bezels with LED lighting from Hollywood VDO, WOW

Nice build. Everyone has to do one at least once.
Ya ,it may cost you more but it's the fun that counts, the vision of the finished product, and the joy and pride of the first shakedown drive.
I bet you know every square MM of that car. Well done.
