Does EVERYONE have one of these wired under the dash?

Hi folks,

I'm about to remove whatever this is but thought I'd check here first to make sure this isn't a Porsche wired-in device.

There are 3 wires coming off of it. The red wire appears to be connected to 12V near the ignition wiring. The 2 black wires go to the headlight switch and attach to 58L and 58R.

Thanks!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1353625624.jpg

Nope not on my 3.2 :-( definitely not OEM. Does it do anything?

I would GUESS it turns on the fog lights without the headlights. A lot of folks did that "back in the day" because they figured it looked cool to drive with just the fog lights on.

Hey, I resemble that statement :P, mine are switched to turn on with the fog switch without the running markers, running markers are just too cool for this old guy :D

It really helped in the turkey run today, it was the fastest run I have ever joined, damn youngsters :P

Fog lights.

If it is for fog lights, here's a cleaner way:

Good question - I haven't actually tested it. There was such a jumble of wires under there I just decided to clean everything up and get things back to stock. Interestingly - the thing that got me going on all of this is that my fog lights didn't work. They came on as running lights but would not work under the control of the fog light switch.

I'm taking it out - thanks everyone.

Another possibility is that it might be a "lights-on" warning module.

Speaker size?

I'm perplexed?
I did a search and found nothing. I need to replace
the sound system in my 85 911 and want to know the sizes of the door and rear speakers. I know the rear shelf one's are a bit tricky but the door one's look pretty standard. I don't need a big flash kit as I don't use it much nor can I afford to spend a lot.
thanks Steve.

6.5" should fit without a problem.

That's a possibility. Does your car beep when you leave the lights on? I think mine does for a few seconds- i'll test that.
