Targa Bar Seal

I have recently replaced the Targa Bar Seal. Is there a trick to replacing the 4 plastic screws (two on each corner) I have new ones but not sure how to replace them. I have tried pushing but to no luck.
If anyone has a trick let me know.

TIA

I just pulled my old ones out and they were pretty mangled and two were broken off in the middle of the rubber for years.

I also noticed they don't do a heck of a lot to hold anything together. They're huge compared to the hole they go in. I guess they used brute force to get them in.

I think I'm missing the little square plate that suppose to go around the alignment holes and they were used to secure that. I just use shorter ones that don't reach the metal bar just to cover up the holes.

Do you have that plate ???

Just did the job myself last weekend. I found the finesse of a rubber mallet useful
