Oil Leak...SUPRISE!!!
I havent had time to do an in depth check on exactly where the leak is coming from but I will tell you what I currently know.
First it isnt really an oil leak...its and oil fountain the flowest forth from the bowels of thine engine. Second he oil accumulates on the heat exchangers and then rains down to earth from there. Its mainly on the right side but there is a smaller leak on the left side. The leak is toward the front of the engine. I will update you when I find more information. I realize it is vague but I am hoping someone might have an idea. David |

David,
It would help considerably to know what year and model car you are dealing with! However ... forward right-side leaks can come from the engine thermostat or oil pressure sender/switch, or oil cooler seals ... or oil return tubes ... Left side leaks can be scavenge line fitting, oil return tubes, and sometimes the oil supply hose for the MFI injection pump Valve cover gasket leaks, too, can drip on heat exchangers on either side! Clean off the engine underside at a wand-wash place ... and start looking for a specific leak location!

Yea good one...dont post the year and make..
Its a 1973.5 911 T. Also the leak it farther forward than the oil return tubes. Definately not them...I can see them clearly. David |

Sounds like the oil pressure sensor. It's on the front of the engine, right side. When they go bad they leak.
Do a partial engine drop to inspect and change it if necessary. |

OEM 73.5 T's do not have an oil pressure switch at the front of the engine. My prediction is the leak is the engine mounted oil cooler seals. The breather cover gasket, engine mounted oil thermostat o-ring or breather hose could be leaking oil but I wouldn't expect a copious leak. Also, the joints to the rubber section of the "hard" oil line could be spraying oil; which can end up in amazing places. Jim

I fixed all these mentioned leaks two weeks ago on my car. It was very easy with the engine already out. Something no one mentioned though was the chain cover gaskets. Both of mine were leaking and they were not fun to fix, even with the engine out.
