3.0SC same engine as '76-'77turbo carrera?
IS the 3.0SC engine the same as the early 3.0 turbo engines?(other than the forced induction)
Could you round up all the early turbo parts and bolt on an SC engine? Is this a viable option? |
Hello
They share some parts like the engine case and the crank. The SC short block can´t be used to upgrade into a Turbo as even the oilpump is different. Grüsse |
Well, there goes that idea. I guess I should just start looking for a 350 chevy motor...JUST KIDDING:eek:

Thrown Hammer,
I think that you could do something to turbo that motor that you have. For example you could get lower comp. pistons and a set of turbo heads. Get a Carrera manifold and put an efi system on. I was going to do that to my car but I came across an other motor and stuck that in. Does your motor need a rebuild? If so it would be a perfect time to turbo it. |

I don't have a 3.0 yet, just checking my options. Everything I've read about SOK is they promise the world and you do ALL the work to get it right.
I have the stock 2.7 and thought the 3.0 would be a good base to start with for the money once my 2.7 gets tired. |
