Porsche Crest Ruf Rear Bumper

I am debating about this bumper, it is for an SC/Carrera flared 911, trying to decide to keep it for my SC or go ahead & cash out of it
Haven't had any luck finding a factory Ruf front bumper

These things are crazy $$$$ and not always easy to get, so am I crazy to sit on it??

That is just dead sexy...

My vote: You should sell it at a massive discount to me!
(Sorry.. greed clouded my mind for a second there...)

Seriously though...
The front is available direct from Ruf but bring $$$. You will never find a real one on the used market so if the $$$ is too much go ahead and cash out.

Actually...

How about this for an idea!
Alois is a major gearhead/enthusiast. You have a large collection of interesting stuff. They are constantly refurbishing, building, and modifying older 911 stuff. Look through your pile of stuff for possible trades and email them to see if they are interested in anything.
It can't hurt and you might be able to pull a rabbit out of your hat.

Yea, $1,500+shipping, then there is the grills & cooler, so by the time it is all said & done, that is another $3K
But I am leaning towards back-dating to a 74 Carrera, already have a Stratton Duck tail..

But I'm also leaning towards making it into a ST look (already have factory turbo front fenders & Pre-84 front Valance)

Depends. If you don't have any other RUF parts on the car, I would sell it for sure. But if it's going to be the final piece of the puzzle, totally worth putting on the car.

I do have a few other bits, but I also want the wheels, and we all know how hard & $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
they are too find, plus, the biggie being some health issues..
I had planned (and have all but the Ruf bits) changing things on my beloved SC, from later Carrera Valance, stock valance, NOS non-fog light, valance,
Stock lid, carrera wing, Turbo wing & Duck, and I won't go into the wheels
So now, I need to figure out a number that I would part with it for..

^Yeah, it's getting hard to find nice ones that haven't been jammed into a curb, chromed or otherwise jacked up.

They encourage anyone to drop in! They are used to what they refer to as parachuters... "They just drop in."
Alois said that "You can't tell who will later become a customer." but I think the truth is they just plain enjoy it. Pfaffenhausen is way out in the country so that does probably limit the number of lookie-lous to a manageable level.

Do you have the mounting hardware?

There is a pair of RUF front and rear bumpers on ebay - ridiculous money close to $9k for both.

I always wondered with the genuine rear bumpers are they really a fit for SC/Carreras as the RUF cars had flares that were in between the Carrera and the turbo at least on the rear...so massaged a little.

What does this bumper fit?

^They had a tuning program for standard-flared cars that included the rear bumper. It's the last item on this list "Fiberglass Rear End"

And you can see the whole brochure here:

It seems that in theory, you'd like a Ruf replica but with only one piece out of several needed for the puzzle, as already acknowledged, it seems as if you've already answered your own question, in light of expenses and/or other mods to your SC - just my .02 cents...

Sorry, no mounting kit, but, yes, I'm gonna go ahead & sell it. Here is one on eBay.

According to the Part#, SC or Carrera, I wasn't willing to risk trying to find the Ruf rear flares, but if I did have a set, I would go ahead I bite the bullet.

Not the "only" Ruf peace I have, but the most visible,
But, between health issues & really favoring the RS look, I'm thinking, keep it simple, just the one set of body work for the car (which means I may let my extra 930 fenders & early front valance go as well, maybe package the fenders with my 965 bumper kit, but NONE of the rims) and be happy with the cars I plan on keeping.
It just doesn't fit my Carrera properly

So I guess it is now up for Sale or trade, or both
