Counting down the days

Made my flight reservations today to go to FLA to drive my car ('77S coupe) home to upstate NY on 9/14... I'm starting to get excited and a little nervous to see the results of the paint/external restoration work. I dropped in at the swap meet in Seattle on Saturday (as I happened to be in the neighborhood) and got all fluttery just being in the company of the piles of parts and the rolling iron. Schweeet!
Starting to think ahead to mods and upkeep. Can someone recommend a good wrench in the Rochester area? I count myself lucky to know Obin is in the neighborhood, based on seeing his name on many well-informed, thoughtful posts. I hope I don't turn into a royal pain with all my questions.
I keep seeing references to "thermal reactors", but haven't figured out yet what they look like. Can someone point me to a picture? Are they removable/replaceable? Is this a fancy name for a special smog-related exhaust header?
Am I in for any smog-related problems?
Gee, what else should I be thinking about?

Piece #11 in the above picture is a thermal reactor. If you do not have to comply with smog laws, remove them and get SSI's and a good muffler. What the thermal reactors do is supper heat the gasses, so as to burn off more polutants. By doing so they make the engine run hotter.

Sorry, I tried to make the above a link, but I'm no computer genius.
