Hello everyone,

I'm on here once in a great while. I have some much stuff I'm doing and I don't have anytime work on my P-911. I'm also not as advanced as you guys so excuse some dumb questions.

I have've been planning on trying to start up the car or bring it to someone but the money has been very low, and I keep putting this off. I love this car and this forum. I enjoy trying to figure out things and working on cars, so any help would be appreciated.

Since the car has been shipped back to me its having problems starting. So the gas which is less then a quater of tank just a can full with stabilzer in it. Should I remove the whole gas thank until reading to have someone look at it? Or should I feel it up with stablilzer?

If I decide to work on it would it be easier to already have the gas tank out?

A full can of stabilizer in a 1/4 tank of gas? That sounds like way too much stabilizer.

It would help if you describe which year your 911 is, how old is the gas, when was the car tuned up last, etc.

Pull the fuel sender and look in the tank. Do you see any rust? If so then drain the tank and have it cleaned out, and check the filter screen that is in the bottom of the tank. Don't use any caustic cleaners, there is a plastic "swirl pot" in cis cars. You can use the fuel pump to drain the tank, just buy a length of fuel line at the auto parts store that is long enough to go from the output of the pump into a gas can.
If the tank is clean inside, then how old is the gas? If more than 6 months, drain it out. I think the best long term storage for a gas tank is to fill it up with gas, with the proper amount of stabil added. This prevents condensation which leads to rust. If sitting long term, every six months drain the tank, use the gas in the daily driver or lawn mower, and refill the tank with fresh gas and stabil.

It is, but my concern was that he seems to be confusing his girl-friend with the fuel tank.

If you are going to be pulling the engine, it is safest to have an empty fuel tank. Just make sure you seal the openings to keep air and moisture out.

Hey guys thanks for understanding and not criticizing me to harsh. The next criticism from some of you will be about my spelling. lol The boston accent and other jokes are cool with me and I laughed myself.

Plumb4u2, I have no idea who you are but you sound like your judgmental. The reason for not finishing my post is because I'm juggling a lot and don't have time to finish once I start. Yes I'll start on my fuel and stop because other things have priority in my life. As much as you love your car so don’t I, I dying to get it running, so I can drive this thing. So as I look at it I’ll jump into it and try to work on it and then I’ll stop due to work. I’ve bought parts from other members online, so I’m not a total waste of time.

So just recently I pushed the car into the garage and would like to winterize it until I can find a mechanic or I can do it myself. I’ve heard about these cars having sensitive fuel injectors so I was asking the question to help me figure out the best way not to damage or cause other issues. THAT’S ALL. Sorry it wasn’t to your level of intelligence.

I posted that uncompleted and rambling question looking for help. At times I'm working on 7-10 different projects, and I’m not thinking clear. I’m on 6 or more computers with 5 monitors, so sorry that you looked at it that way and I’ll try to follow your RULES and REGULATIONS.

As far as storing your car, fill it with fuel and stabil. If you can get non ethanol gas use it.
May have to drive a while to find it though...Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

I have no problem with your spelling or grammar, and understand your situation. However, I could have a problem with you last sentence--especially the LOL.

A lot of people on this site go out of their way to offer help and advice and expect nothing in return except the satisfaction of helping other enthusiasts. Timmy2 mentioned one major expectation that is, typically, unspoken--your experience and solution will help others but only if we know what the solution is. Completing you posts only means that some resolution is posted.

You need to understand, simply not offering any replies or feedback is tantamount to asking a question of someone and then turning away and ignoring their answer. Would you do that to someone face-to-face? Wouldn't you consider that the epitome of rudeness? What would you think of the person who did that to you?

I'm sure you're busy and are in need. It takes very little to simply offer some resolution/communication as others offer help to solve your problem. Leaving everyone in the dark does no one any good.
