911 No Running Lights One Side Only
 

86 911 - Running Lights

No voltage at the fuse for the right side (F & R) when the switch is pulled half or full w/ the key off or on. Left side is getting 12V at the fuse. All Blinkers and parking lights (turn signal when car is parked, key off) work fine.

All bulbs and fuses (#12,13,18,19) have continuity and all receptacles have been cleaned.

New light switch?

The '86 is an odd year, it's the only one that has a diode for that side's running lights.

No one is really sure why Porsche put it there. But it does go bad.

It's under the dash, near the steering column. You need to replace yours (or get rid of it.)

McLovin, thanks for the speedy help; saved me a fruitless $200 on a new switch. I'm going to attempt to find a replacement, else just remove it.
