68 vs. 69-73 Seat Question (Fire Extinguisher Mount)

I found a Fire Extinguisher Mount that says it's for 1969-1973. I am trying to figure out if it will fit my brother's 1968 912. The company rep was no help.

My sister-in-law is giving my brother the extinguisher and possibly a seat mount for Christmas. He is too "Frugal" to buy it himself and yet worries his 44 year old baby that he has owned since he was 16 will some day be lost due to a fire. Seems like cheap insurance and peace of mind to me.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have access to his '68 because my SIL is out-of-town right now. Otherwise, I would simply measure and compare with my '69. Thanks again.

I've had my share of SWB and LWB early Porsches, and I'd say it should fit fine. After having a Porsche disintegrate in a fire and another one backfire through the carbs and catch fire, I'd say this is money well spent.

I didn't think there was a difference. I know the headrests are interchangeable. Thanks for the reply.
