				Floor Pan question

I have another question in regard to SWB verse LWB floor pan differences, I found a set of used never installed Stoddards floor pans 4 pieces that were originally oprdered for 67 911. Will these work in a LWB 70? Were did the extra two inches come into play? Are the pans the same by chance? Last edited by ARCSinAK; 12-02-2012 at 04:03 PM.. | ||

Not sure about the oil gurgling but I remember reading other threads where it has been mentioned and it didn't seem to be a significant issue if pressure and temps remained in normal ranges. As far as the pans, the difference between lwb and swb cars is in the distance from the torsion bar opening rearward to the wheel opening. That means everything forward of the torsion bar opening is basically identical in the lwb and swb cars. Since the torsion opening is in line with the torsion tube, and the torsion tube is behind the rear of the floor pan, the pans would be the same--lwb or swb. Take a couple of minutes and look at pictures of long and short wheel base cars and look closely at where the torsion bar opening is, relative to the front of the rear wheel well. You will clearly see the lwb rear well opening is further back from the torsion opening. That being said, there may be some other differences between the pans, like placement of seat rail, that may prevent using them. My answer is based on memory, not hands-on pan replacement so comments from others would be best before you go ahead and buy them.
