Hello,

What kind of brake disks should go back onto a 1968 resto? Does anyone know who provided the OEM? Is there a sensible upgrade? Eg blind drilled and grooved? Car is going to be road driven, but I'd still like it to stop well!

All calipers are manufactured by ATE.

1968 Rear brakes are a real pain as the mounting centres for the calipers are very small and rear discs are generally only available from Porsche and are hugely expensive.
To upgrade can involve modifying the rear trailing arms.

In general if you have calipers that are in good order and buy sensible quality pads (DS2500 maybe) it will stop quite well and fade shouldn't become a major issue.

Use a good brake fluid and ATE Super Blue Racing Fluid is readily available, inexpensive and should be OK for road use.

Changing the front calipers is not too difficult as you have seperate mounting plates but IMHO if you change the fronts you will just upset the brake balance and not gain too much benefit.

There is no easy and cost effective rear brake upgrade for SWB cars that I have found.
