"I don't seem myself, with this car, trying to impress anyone. I bought it.....because I wanted it."

+1 from a 17 year owner of a single 911 model.

There is a saying about boats - The day you buy and the day you sell are the two best days of owning it. Not once have I regretted buying my 911.

November 11th, 2011 was the first day of my dream car ownership. I have now celebrated 1 year with the car and plan on celebrating many, many years of ownership. Ever since I was a child, my father had me out working on cars in his shop. I remember the day his best friend pulled up with the 911 I now own. I tugged on my fathers shirt as I stood beside him and asked "Dad, what is that beautiful car?" He told me a dream that will one day come true if I work hard. I no longer sleep much because I have nothing to dream about.

There's a MB test lab on the same street as my office. I see a few Porsche's being driven by their workers.

I've been working on these cars since 1971 and I still enjoy going out to my garage and working on them at 59 years old. Thanks for posting it's fun to see the excitement in the younger generations when they see these beautiful cars.
As much as you can see the guy's love for the cars he should correctly pronounce the Porsche name.

I was thinking exactly the same thing everytime he said Porsche.

years ago when my I was searching for my car, my wife had suggested that maybe I buy a Boxster. at the time I thought maybe it would be nice to get a newer modern car but the more I thought about it the more I was thinking that if I bought a Boxster I would always wonder if I should have bought a 911 but if I bought a 911 I would never think I should have bought a Boxster.
it took just about a full year to find one, that was 8 years ago last month and I still beam from ear to ear every single time I drive what my wife calls "stupid car".

Nice garage!

I noticed that guy in black and white @ the beginning. He seemed to know how to pronounce "Porsche" correctly. I wonder who he is...?!

Maybe its just me but it seemed kind of weird and pointless. This guy isn't some inspired artist like Magnus Walker or the Rauh Welt guy. He's just some dude standing there with gloves on and a breaker bar. Seemed like more of a vanity project to me.

Same here from the owner of a 911 that I bought in August of 1995.

My friend of my dad was asking if I ever thought of buying a newer Porsche. I would love a new 911 Turbo. But I am way to cheap to buy one.

I explained to her that one of the things that I like about my 27 year old car is it is a pure driver's car. No power steering, traction control, ABS or computer controlled suspension.

Nice. Thanks. Reminds me a lot of Magnus' film...without the dreads. The garage sounds, the staging. He even plays around with a socket wrench while he talks.

Documentary

Thanx for sharing the clip.

It just makes me smile to see any air cooled 911 on celluloid.

Put any one of us behind the wheel of any 911, and the Magnus (Rob Zombie) comes out.

I have always loved the shape of the old 911s and knew one day I would own one. I am happy that it has happened MUCH more quickly than expected due to a rare opportunity, my ability to act on it and a supportive wife. I have had my car 3 years now, driving for about 6 months, and I love every minute of it.

What is interesting however, is that I fell in love with the lines of this car. Much as I did with my 190SL Mercedes, however, since owning the 911, something different has happened, I love DRIVING the 911 as well. The 190SL is a little more of a chore (age and that it is more a touring car). The driving experience was a great surprise for me, it also explains why 911 tubs are far easier to come by than engines. For me, owning the 911 is like finally dating with that hot girl you have been pursuing, then being happily surprised that she is great in bed too!

My 911 WIP and my 190SL MB, notice which one is on the top and less accessible....

Is there ANY excuse for mispronouncing the name of the marque?
