What Happened?
Sat morning a group of my MGB buddies and I were driving down Interstate 44 just outside St. Louis city limits. We were passed by a brand new, dealers plates, blue 911 cab. This beautiful car of my dreams drives by in the left lane, slows slightly while we both wave and nod to acknowledge each other's car. He then speeds up to about 75 mph. While I am on the radio telling my buddies how great that car is he moves over to the right lane to avoid some slightly slower traffic. He then attempts a quick lane change to the left, immediately looses control and does a 480 spin across two lanes of traffic. He slid off of the road sideways and somehow, by blind luck, managed to miss all the traffic and stay on all four wheels as he went over the curb.
As soon as we saw that there was no apparent damage, my friends commenced to rag me about how well my dream car handled. I guess he just punched it a little too much and broke the rear end loose. Any other thoughts on how such a loss of control could occur? If that was a demonstration drive I bet that he is not going to be a porsche owner. My friends say the beauty of the MG's distracted him but they are just teasing me because they know how bad I would like to have a 911 coupe for my daily driver. |

He must have had his traction control turned off.
