I like the fit!

I am happy to report after a full day of detailing and driving, I like the fit. I feel the magic behind the wheel of this car. I will definetly bring her out on a track before the close of summer. I just cannot use this cars potential on the street. I took it on the highway to push it a little and 3rd to red was over 100mph. I am completly blow away. Heres another shot of a proud owner and his baby.

damn that is sweet...best is the rear end shot. Guess that's a good thing since that is what most other drivers will see.

Just LOOK at that thing from the rear! The 996 can't touch the lines on the 993. For me, the 993 IS the dream machine. Beautiful.

The rear cup wheels in the shot above have some curb rash on them. I am thinking of changing rims to 18's. I would like some advice on this as well as opinions of rims choices. I like the twin turbo 18's. They are not cheap. Also would anyone be interested in these wheels and tires. I have close up shots of all 4.

Brian, afraid your 993 wheels would be too tight a fit for my car. But I agree with you...the Twin Turbo wheels with the hollow spokes...beautiful.

OUCH! But wheel men can work miracles of refinishing. When you get the hollow spokes? BE CAREFUL!!!!

On Technology wheels - don't get take offs from a twin turbo - the rear won't fit. The twin turbo rear wheel is a 40mm offset and it will stick out too far and rub the wheel well. If you want Hollow spoke technology wheels they were made in narrow body offsets too, which would be 65mm for your car. Get the right ones.

Not to be mean or anything but I thought Porsche put out a bulletin about not fitting a car with 18 inch wheels unless it came from the factory that way. The reasoning was that the wheel bearings wear a lot more.

It was one of the german auto manufacturer's, I think. It may have been about 19's though.

This is partially true. There was a TSB regarding very early '95 models. Porsche does not recommend fitting 18" wheels to these models.

Other than that 993's did come with optional 18" wheels so there should be no problems. In Big's case the 18's are a bolt on with no worries assuming the proper offsets are respected.
