1986 911 head lights

Hey guys.

Would it be normal for a Canadian model 1986 911 to have these ''covered'' head lights. In other words, I would like to know from which year 911 were imported in Canada with (what I believe we call) H4 lights.

Nico

Oh the sugar scoops, good question.

From what I understand those were for u.s. dot requirements to use sealed beams, think row had the H1 or H4s.

That's what bugs me... looking at the speedo, this 911 looks like a Canadian model. I don't get it... and I'm sure the Porsche dealership salesman will not either...

We'll see.

Speedos or headlights are an easy swap out. Dealers or previous owners do that all the time.

I was under the impression that Canadian cars weren't truly RoW unless there was no US equivalent at the time. (e.g. 930) My understanding is that Canadian cars were essentially US models with the metic speedo. Note the lack of side blinkers on that car, or the large rear bumperettes.

As far as I'm aware the Canadian model was spec'd almost exactly like the US model, same motor, lights, bumpers etc with a kilometer speedo. My 85 ROW had quite a few differences but I am pretty sure the sugar scoops were standard fare on both US and Canadian models. Cheers PS I'm pretty sure that at no time was a new Porsche sold in Canada with H4's.....just those lame DOT sanctioned H5's LOL
