How do I make a tunnel brake line.
Rebuilding complete brake system and I have bought some parts already formed and I am shaping some lines but what and where do I get the material online to make a new tunnel brake line. Did my searches, has anyone researched and found the parts.

try our host (Jason) @ 1-888-280-7733 X233. Good luck, Gerry |
You can also get straight brake line at any parts store and bend it yourself.

I'm in the process of removing several lines I'd installed 2 years ago that I got from Autozone because all the end fittings stripped the first time I tried to take them apart. The original lines still work fine after 25 years, but the crappy replacement lines have stripped after one use in 2 years. So I'm going to find good quality hard lines and do it over. |
i always use the old fittings if they are good. you know they fit and are of good quality. unfortunatly the only way to get a good flare is to have a very expensive flare tool like a snap-on

Fedhill has excellent tube nuts and tubing
|
My tub has no center line at all in it so I must fabricate it.

Fedhill looks great, just need to get the sizes i need for the lines and nuts
|
There's always AN3 braided hose then adapt to the calipers...
|
I looked and our host did not seem to have them. But $toddards has a ten piece set. You might call them.

Anyone have the size specs on the nuts

When I was purchasing new brake lines several years ago, all but two of the OEM lines were still available to order (it took several weeks for them to arrive from Germany). For the two NLA lines (one was the tunnel line), I measured the old lines (run fishing line through the old line to measure the length), and ordered the two lines the measured length from Fedhill because they were the only place I could find that carried the proper Cunifer alloy lines.
At that time Fedhill would still flare the ends and install the proper fittings for our cars, but I don't believe they perform that service any longer. |

Not meaning to hijack, but what do you use for a flaring tool if building these yourself?
