mechanical fuel injection for a 911 E MY 1971

Hi guys,
a good friend of mine owns a 911 E MY 1971. These cars also were sold by
Porsche to US citizens. The car was equipped with a mechanical fuel Injection. It
was very very difficult to adjust the fuel injection! Therefore most US customers replaced the mechanical fuel injection by webers.
My friends 911 is exactly such a modified car (now equipped with webers). So he wants to restore the engine to its original condition (matching numbers). Therefore he needs a complete mechanical fuel injection for the car/engine.
Does anyone know where he could buy one???
Wulf

Wulf,

The 2.2L engine will have a full magnesium stack MFI system. These are becoming extremely difficult to locate.

Best chance for finding one is to put a WTB ad in the Pelican Parts Classifieds. You can also search these old ads to see if any have sold.

I also suggest to check the Early 911S registry. There are often good leads for finding these hard to find parts.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, please get that car back on the road. The MFI is worth it despite the considerable expense to change back over.

Wulf,

Jamie is correct. On the Early 911S Registry, Andrew 15 has a MFI setup for sale at the present time. He is selling the parts individually as opposed to the complete setup and his prices are reasonable.

Good luck in your search for your friend. Ditto to what Jamie said, "Welcome to the forum."

Not gonna be cheap but you could get lucky because it's a 2.2
