Looking for picture of transmission internals

I'm curious if such a picture exists....a sideways profile of a 915 transmission case with the internals overlayed to what they look like internally all connected and mounted.

If not - how about some photos of what the 2 gear sections of the transmission look like as you pull them apart? All the photos I've found through searching are mostly close-ups of gears and such.

Thanks.

I have lots of photos, can you be more specific on what you are trying to see? These are of 915 type

I found these threads to be really helpful when I did mine -

The Zimmerman how-to Wiki:
Porsche Wiki

I thought the photos in this thread of the overall main and pinion shafts, both together and apart, was helpful as well:
TrannyRebuild

Hope these help, and good luck.

Haha @ 3rd picture. Those pics and those links helped - thanks!

So from looking at them - it's impossible to get to the center section of the transmission without removing the 5th/reverse gears and other hardware in the end section?

Correct; all that has to come off. As a step-by-step guide, the two links I posted make it very straightforward.

What are you trying to repair?

No repairs - I'm trying to see what the condition of my transmission is. I have a 915 I would like to sell, but obviously there is a price difference between one in good condition and a bad one. I don't really want to mess with anything internally as I don't know what I'm doing.

There is a plate on the bottom that you can remove and get a descent view of the center gears. The fingers on the plate are one of the failure points as well so you can confirm the condition of the fingers at the same time.
