Ramblings

There was an '87 930 "S" at our autocross Saturday. Pretty exciting. There were only 48 of those things shipped to the US, I was told. Lar, if you're out there, thanks.

BTW, a little bird told me that WD-40 works well on vinyl dashes. Can anybody confirm or criticize this?

Well, my dash is not cracked or anything like that, but it could use a treatment, to sort of re-darken it.

I used Wayne's suggestion from 101, used black shoe dye on my vinyl. Helped darken it, looks better, but try it in an inconspicous area first.

My dash is wine/burgundy, whatever. Black is the best color for Porsche interiors, or at least it is from the perspective of the person who owns it when it is more than a couple of decades old.

You could probably find burgundy- just go to a shoe store and look for Kiwi shoe dye. I think it comes in multiple colors.

Speaking of fast local Porsches at auto-x, a co-worker was running against Val Korry's 993 at the Sunday BSCC auto-x. Was handling Val & several others okay, until Greg Fordahl stepped in the car. Oops. Fordahl knocked about three seconds off anybody else's fast time, clean! I've ridden in Val's 993 at the track formerly known as SIR, man is it fast!
