Your vendor erred in failing to tell you that TB15's are race tires and like ALL such things, do pick up debris at operating temperatures. Its one of the compromises one makes when using such things on the road.

The only way around that problem is to buy street, not race tires.

Michelin says it's a race tire and it's a soft compound and will pick up a lot of debris and sandblast your paint. Are there any other options for 15" wheels? I feel that the people selling these should warn you that the race tire your are buying is sticky because $10K-$15K is a lot not to be happy with your purchase.
There, I ran it through my translator. Still wondering what the hell cost $10-15K?

That was my "wha?"

I'm getting ready to purchase 15 inchers for my RSR. What are other options for 9&11 x 15 wheels? I had avons on the cobra and liked them, but I don't think they come in these sizes.

Take a look at Hoosiers for classics at Phil's Tire, http://www.philsracetires.com/pricesheets/HOOSIERvintage.htm
Pirelli P7 Corsa Classics are out there but can't find them in the US yet.

Its just not the TBs.
Be warned the Avon slicks in the 11 and 14 wide sizes will pick up sand and gravel too.
6 inch wide rims with some 400 tread wear tires might help.

stone guard film on the impact areas
there are very few options when it comes to 15" tires for 9's and 11's. They all involve some sort of race rubber.

there are several other threads with discussions of this already posted here

I'm trying to see where the possible surprise is here...

So you want a tire that will stick like glue to the road but that will magically not stick to the pieces of sand and gravel that are on that road?

May I suggest that an Oldsmobile station wagon might have tires that won't pick up anything.
