Removing E bake handle

I did a search but could not find the answer. How do you remove the e brake handle from the car? I removed the auto heat cover unit and removed the 3 bolts holding the e brake assembly to the body but cannot get to the cables to remove the unit. How do I disconnect the cables from the assembly?
Thanks
Mike

The easiest way and likely the only way is to undo the e-brake cables and heater box cables from underneath the car... e-brake cable attachment is behind the rotors, remove the nut and you'll have all the slack you need.
