Too big to fail

One of the posts on my hood crest was broken, and overall it looked dowdy.
Have any of you used the new silver hood crests? For that matter, what do the newer available crests look like? I'm assuming they're going to be slightly different.

I'm a traditionalist, so I vote(d) for getting a new one, to go with your super repaint.
that said, , its your car, so blah blah blah ........... in all cases, it will look great

To be really cool, go for a racecar-type sticker.

I've got the silver one on my car and it is pretty subtle. My car is rosewood in color sort of a metallic brown with rose highlights.
I kept the old one just in case.

I think you should hold out for one of the older, flat-looking affairs. The new crest I purchased recently is too gaudy but I put it on regardless. The silver one is nice, but again the "chest" is bowed and the entire badge a bit glossy, just as the genuine replica I bought.

My (crappy) recollection is that the "new" style came in for '74 - the sought after "old" flat orange style was a long hood car thing (up to '73).

If you still have the broken post, it can be soldered back in place.
