cam nut removal '

does anyone have a sure fire way to remove the cam nuts on the 911 heads with the heads already removed? I tried the special tools with the crows foot and the center socket but I just cant get any leverage I am thinking about trying an impact wrench or something similar but I wanted to find out from you guys if anybody has a better way. any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Norm

This question makes no sense to me? There's no way to remove the cam towers from the engine, unless you cut the chain, and remove the chain housing still attached to the cam towers?

Perhaps you mean something else?

that's correct wayne I did in fact remove them that way, by removing a link on the chains knowing that I would be replacing them on the rebuild.

yeah, you kinda screwed yourself on that one. you should have used the impact wrench while the chains were still attached, because all it will do now is spin the cam. although, even if it does, it probably wouldn't hurt anything, and eventually may knock the nut loose. just never tried it that way. i think that muscle, and the cam holder and crowfoot is the best way now. just watch out for the 6mm housing studs, so they don't get broken or bent.

thanks JW! I may have to put it back together and chalk it up to learning the hard way.
