Supertrapp and RSR style manifolds?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...air2_small.jpg
This picture shows Bill Verburgīs picture of a RSR with exhaust I think itīs supertrapps and extractor manifolds. I want to make a similar setup, I just got a pair used supertrapps and it should be very useful if anyone got a picture down under of a extractor manifolds and supertrapps and telling the performance and how loud it could be. I have a 79 SC thatīs too heavy, losing weight is a other way to enhance the performance in a cheaper and safer way. Than a 3.6 conversion or supercharging a 3.0. |

Like this is the optimal setup?
I will do like this, these headers or are they called manifolds?. |
Found some images but they are very PRICEY to buy.
About 3.000-3.300 USD. Welding my own is a lot cheaper but I want the performance too. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/911Esm.gif http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/933rsr1.gif All help I can get is very welcome. |
A guy in the local PCA has super traps on his carrera and it sounds GOOD. In the car it sounds great, not obnoxious but just about right, IMHO. Of course some people say it is too loud if you follow closely behind the car.
I'm not sure how the super traps are attached, I've never looked, but I think they are attached to the stock heater boxes, but I'm not sure. |
I think Chris Striet has headers into supertraps on his race car. it sounds awesome. There are video clips here:

The mufflers are from Coast Mufflers they are very free flowing and quieter than my street exhaust, I highly recommend them!. The Supertrapps become very restrictive when enough discs for quietness are added. The headers are just standard RSR fare 42mm primaries.
here are 2 more pics I had handy; http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa... 007_small.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa... 013_small.jpg |
Where is there a good online source for Supertrapp mufflers?

Mattias,
I am running headers to Supertraps on my 2.7 and like the setup, BUT it is LOUD particularly once the car is on the cam and during downshifts. Your neighbors may get grumpy unless they are also car enthusiasts. We are often restricted to 92db during local autocrosses and I have to remove Disks (baffles in superstraps) to meet this requirement when runnning the car hard. This of course increases backpressure on the system. Everyone seems to like the sound though, high reving 2.7 plus fairly open exhaust = :D The setup works great with webers but I would check with some of the sharp engine guys on the board to make sure it will run correctly with the CIS on your SC. Unfortunately my car is in the shop right now but I will post pics once I get her back. Best, |

Compared to my skinny 79SC. BTW good pics! |

I want pictures in exhaust tubing and everything how you did that. And thanks for all input! It cleared some clues before I start building my own exhaust!. |
The second picture you show is on a turbo, so doesn't really apply. The ones from SCarGo are ridiculously expensive - I actually can't imagine how they think they are worth that?
The easiest option is probably Bursch: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911M/POR_911M_exhaus_pg3.htm#item6 But I see you want to make your own... and you live in Sweden :D Cam |
