referance or speed sensor

Hello out there. Does anyone know if i can put a new referance/speed/cam sensor in without pulling the motor. If you do please specify the thread. Thank you and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

If Carrera 3.2, no problem. No need to pull engine. 964/993, can't speak of but I doubt you'd have to pull either.

Just pull the rear driver side wheel. Both sensors are right there.

The BMW ones are about half the price and work fine.

Awesome. and yes mine is a n 86 911 3.2 . Happy days!!!! One more question are both sensors the same? Also is the head temp sensor easy to change as well. I see that all 3 connectors are on the same bracket and all 3 connectors are crispy so if easy I would like to change the head temp one as well.

Yes, both the same. CHT is in the same area and easy to change out at the same time. All 3 should take about an hour. Soap makes the rubber plug easier to put back in.

The grommet going through the tin was the hardest for me to remove on mine. This grommet is part of the CHT and the speed/ref sensors pass through it. Those are both identical.

Plenty of threads and pix on site. Took me much longer 3 hours,i am no master wrench. Use BMW sensors from Bosch, same thing, half the price from the host.

Don't move the bracket or you will have to recalibrate the sensor gaps.

Will need a special/modified deep socket to R&R the CHT sensor.

life is good if they are not stuck in the bracket. silicone spray or paste on the grommet helps a lot. don't overtighten the head sensor. it might shear off.
