VW brake pedal return spring work on '79 911's?

The host supplier shows no availability of the 911-423-531-03-OEM or equivalent.

Does anyone know where to find one, or what might be used in its place? Perhaps this VW part works?

VWC-131-721-163 - BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING - BEETLE 67-79 / GHIA 67-74 / TYPE 3 67-74

Other ideas?

If you look farther down the page in the Pelican catalog, you will find this part: 901-423-531-00-OEM

Looks like it might work for you?

It says that part is for a 74-76, any clue as to how it's different? It does look the same in the illustration.

According to Bruce, the guy who rebuilds pedal assemblies recommended by Pelican, the older spring is only different because of the spring rate. The older actually has a higher spring rate. Sounds like the older part will work fine.
