New Years Day: 120-plus miles

Wife and kids went skiing so I decided to stay home and drive the 911. First wash, took care not to get water everywhere.

Through old-town Tacoma westbound, then back along the waterfront and onto I-5 northbound.

Took Highway 18 east to the Issaquah-Hobart Road, a nice two-lane that runs north to I-90.

Self portrait.

Stopped for gas and a potty break, then onto I-90 west toward Seattle.

Held the camera too high and got the tint. Seattle in the distance, Lake Washington in the foreground. Effortless 70-80 mph in 4th and 5th. Wonderful sound. All day.

There goes 100 miles!

Headed home on my little 'loop' around Brown's Point, a 35-posted road that is better at 45-50, and there was no one in front of me for a change. A few sport bikes going to other way, also happy no one was on the road.

Pulled into the garage with 118.2 on the trip odo but it was actually about 121 since I didn't zero it our until the first fuel stop.

Time for a Berliner and then dinner.

I'll say it again: BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT.

Good to drive them! I did 196 miles all in today, up to TRE, driving through the hills and then back home.

Nice trip! I got mine out too; did about 225 miles up the Columbia River Gorge and back on the WA side.

Took mine out twice over the weekend!
On Saturday I went to cars & coffee in Tigard, then down the valley to Aurora and some back roads back up to 99W and over Cooper Mountain to Beaverton. Never hit a freeway or highway, all back roads!
On Sunday went over Bald Peak to Yamhill and Carlton. Stopped for some rare no-ethanol premium in Carlton and came back through Banks to Helvetia tavern for a world famous double cheeseburger & fries. Can't get any better than that!
Forgot to take the camera tho...

Thanks Creve!

This thread reminds me of a piece of sage wisdom I read on this board when I first joined. Someone posted that they were looking for a 911 but was concerned about all the problems they seem to have. A long-time Pelican told the poster not to be put off about 911 ownership and that it's only when someone is having problems with their 911 that they post on here--the rest of us are out driving.
