left brake light doesn't work when lights on
otherwise it works. I know it's odd, and I can track it down eventually, but as per usual, I figured I'd post it on the off chance there's a cause that won't require X hours I'll spend trying to track this down.

Start with a new bulb. Clean the socket and the two contacts. Now clean the ground. It's the brown wire.

Kurt,
Make sure your tail light bulb is not being lit during braking, and that the correct lamps do come on for tail lights and brake lights. If it looks ok, then I agree with Tyson, probably a corroded contact or bad ground. I had some problems in my harness from a melted 3rd brake light wire that caused some real headaches.... Good luck, Tom |
