**fire**

Ok, its a tease.... the 911 is fine. But, we did have a nasty fire in what was once a clean E320. Anyone interested in a Mercedes fixer upper?

Carnut,

You can't post pictures without telling what led up to the fire!! Did a fuel line burst and cause the fire?

We don't know what started the fire. One of our employees got in the car, tried to start it, smelled smoke and got out. She did not make an attempt to put out the fire until it was too late. By the time I got up there it was white hot. Took the fire dept 15 mins to put it out.- It was fun to watch.

I'm with Curt. Something really fishy about this whole scenerio.

And what could possibly be "fun" about watching a car burn?

I am sure folks have donated homes for firefighting practice that were worth less!

Ouch! At least it wasn't a 280se Convertible!

Ok, maybe "fun" was not the right word. What made it "interesting" was how hot it got, the tires exploding, watching the pros go to work putting it out, etc. The car is completely insured and there was no "funny business". God- some of you are paranoid. Just thought you would find it "interesting".

Cool

Well carnut..are you going to pitch a word or two about 2 1/2 lb. extinguishers....Well anyway, I pitched my 2 1/2 lb. halon for this BigBig Ride I'm on...As per Jack O's logic on extinguishers I have a 5 lb. halon in the cabin and a 5 lb. dry chem. in luggage comp..when PMO's get installed there will be a gas fume detector in engine comp. and an onboard fire supression system in the engine comp. , AT LEAST. for some reason I take the fire devil seriously .........Ron [still in la la]

Straight up fishy!

These are the questions I would ask:

Why is it parked by itself, when all the other cars are at the other end of the parking lot?

Is the owner experiencing finacial hardship?

Good job. I hate M cars. Well ever since one went through a give way, went onto the other side of the road and had a collision with me in my lil' Toyota. Then the ********* did a runner before I could get him into court. Well, I feel beter now, that's my b1tching session over with.

My mechanic buddy said the electrical systems in 95+ MBZ's are really poor and the main harnesses in some cause real problems.

It isn't beyond the realms of possibility that the other people had time to move their cars... "She did not make an attempt to put out the fire until it was too late. By the time I got up there it was white hot. "

MarkY - "And what could possibly be "fun" about watching a car burn?"

E V E R Y T H I N G

(Now you think I'm a lazy-eyed psycho )

Seriously - it would be pretty cool...

Cam,

True everyone might have had time to move their cars, but when the average person sees fire, it's usually pandamonium in their head. Therefore, I don't believe you would see those cars all parked so nicely together. And more than likely, the other car owners, not being fire type persons, would move their car even further away.

A friend of mine was driving an MB S500, and the battery EXPLODED. as in, boom, shrapnel, battery acid all over the engine compartment. They offered no explanation, just cleaned it up and said "it happens sometimes."
