1987 Slantnose Turbo VIN

I'm considering an 87 930 slantnose and trying to determine whether it is factory s/n or not. option sticker is missing so can't look for the 505 code.
vin is WP0JB0930HS051137
any suggestions ???

Scouser's Porsche VIN Decoder

Vin Decoder. I'm not an expert on slants, but I think it's not in the VIN it's listed as an option "505" on the window sticker. Others please chime in, I may be wrong on that.

Factory slants had the oil cooler behind the passenger side rear intake. They also had one motor for the headlights with push rods to operate both lights at once. They alos came with a full Turbo rear suspension unlike the aftermarkets which have a Carrera suspension although I'm not sure you could tell from looking.

Give the Porsche folks a call, as they would have the definitive answer.

Also, get a bid on that front end damage.

Good luck,

Gerry

Ok just a few quick things,

Slants could not be ID'd by the VIN.

In '87 if it was a US car, the rockers should have a jack point. This one does not.

The front spoiler is not per the US model

The rear intake looks to be non-functional and not cut out

I wonder if this car was in a front end accident and was repaired into a slant??

The would explain the missing option sticker due to hood replacement

If you enter the VIN in the decoder that " kojo911" provided all the correct info comes up

There is a price difference between a real slant and aftermarket slant..I would want to know what I was buying wouldn't you?

Just saying 505's real 491 and 470 codes cost money "
it looks like a sharp car... Agreed on your comment" But unless
it's a true investment piece, a well done mod will do most just fine
and save thousands. When your screaming down the road having the time of your life
the VIN will be the last thing on your mind..

Whichever road you choose " I wish you the best

Cool Pics AVDCAV, thanks for posting.

Any interior pics Drola? The steering wheels also have a special crest in the horn pad.

thanks for all the replies. for me this is an investment type of deal so authenticity is of the utmost importance. while i do agree that it is a nice car it isn't exactly "cheap" so......
since the value of a real 505 is much higher than that of a conversion, i really need to get to the bottom of this to see if I move forward or not. i spoke to the seller and told him to take a look at the rear intake to see if there is a cooler in there. he did say that it has a single headlight motor though.

I don't have the original wheel on anymore it's wrapped up in my attic "
but yes it does have a crest on it.. I removed wheel the console and both leather
arm rests along time ago so I wouldn't scuff them up.

If you say slantnose in Germany there like " what ??? " it's always slopenose

I don't know if you ever owned a Slopenose but it gives new meaning to staying 4 or 5 cars behind traffic.

Good luck finding a set of fenders or god forbid a complete front end with linkage...
