Window Motor
I removed the regulator and motor from my passenger door due to a slow window. Everthing looks good except perhaps the motor shaft has about 1/4" of axial play, probably okay but just wanted to verify if this is normal. Has anyone removed the end cap of the motor housing to expose the internals? Thanks,

No, but I did remove the gear plate to inspect, clean and grease the drive gear. I used small machine nuts and bolts to replace the cover because they peened some pins to hold it in place.
Maybe off the point... I figured (right or wrong) that I wouldn't be able to fix anything in it, after having looked at the foot well and various other motors Porsche used (heater blower, windshield wipers, AC evap, etc). I did count on cleaning and lubing the regulator and other window parts to reduce the strain, as well as fixing the regulator spring.
