How can I extend my steering column?

I'm 6'4" and plan on installing my race seat in the perfect position for my long legs. Problem is, the steering wheel is about 3" too far away. Is there a spacer available or a better way to position the steering wheel closer to me?

if you get an aftermarket wheel like a momo they have spacers.

Momo makes a few wheels that have deeper dishes, placing the wheel ~2" closer to you. The one that I like is the Momo Mod 7. I bought one from our host, but it was a little to high for me, so instead I went back to my shallow dished Momo Prototipo, with the 1/2" Momo spacer (all of which is available through our host).

I have the same issue with long legs and race seat. I have a momo mod 8 wheel which has a deeper dish along with a long spacer, I think around 3". You can get 1" spacers and stack them to get the wheel position where you want it. It puts the turn signal swith a ways back from the wheel so it takes getting used to. Quick release adapters also provide space if you're considering one of those.

I installed a 2" spacer behind the hub on my RaceMark wheel.

Greatly improved driving position.

Put your seat where your legs and back are comfortable. Then move the wheel for proper hand placement. The hard part is reaching the shifter in 4th(901) or 5th(915). The Hargett shifter is great for hand/shifter placement.
