Porsche Technician (Oklahoma City Area)

Just wanted to pass along some positive info on an Oklahoma City area independent Porsche technician in case any forum members in that area are in need. Owner’s name is Cory Jump. Business is Planet 911 in Edmond Oklahoma. My personal dealings with Kory have been excellent. I bought my first 911 (’83 SC) this past spring. Unfortunately the car had zero documentation. All I knew was that the car had been in Oklahoma for a number of years. I contacted the Oklahoma City PCA chapter (War Bonnet) to see if anyone knew the car or PO. No luck there. Then I took a stab and looked for Porsche mechanics in the Oklahoma City area. First one I called, Planet 911, was a hit! Talked to Cheryl and she knew the car well. Said they had done some significant work on the car and that she would have the owner (Cory) contact me. Cory called me a few days later and explained all the work he had performed on the car from 2003-2009. He probably spent at least 45 minutes on the phone with me. Then he offered to look for all the invoices and said he would send me everything he could. Within a week I received 12 pages of invoices documenting the work he had performed (complete top end, complete brakes, struts/shocks, multiple oil changes/valve adjustments, upholstery work, etc). I guess I‘d like to make two points. (1) Cory stood to make no money from the time he invested in talking to me, researching the work he did on the car before I bought it, or sending me the invoices, postage, etc. In fact he refused to accept any money. Plus he knows I’ll probably never take the car to him for additional work since I live several hours away in Texas. So, in that respect, he’s a lot like you Pelican Forum guys – Willing to unselfishly give of your time and knowledge for no promised return. (2) My car was pretty well sorted when I got it and IMHO is a well above average SC. It runs super. I attribute that at least partly (and possibly mostly) to the quality work Cory did on the car for the 2 owners before the guy I bought the car from. Sorry for the long post. Hope this helps someone out there. As a new 911 owner, this forum has been invaluable to me. Hope you all have a great 2013!
