The little leather tab with a snap on it that hold the seat back up into place broke on my 1985 911 for the passenger side. I had to pull the seat back out first to get it to an interior shop to make me a new tab.

There is one VERY large bolt with a slotted screwdriver head. It had never been out since the car was built in 1985. I tried a regular screwdriver and that was hopeless. I went to a hammer screwdriver. After a lot of pounding I had done nothing but made noise. Out comes the big guns.

The hammer screwdriver has an attachment that goes from a 1/2 inch typical ratchet drive to hold a screwdriver bit. I just put that on my air gun. Press into the bolt tight, pull the trigger, brap, out spins the bolt. Easy peasy. There was signs of corrosion on the threads, and it was not going to come out easily.

Putting the set back in place is fairly easy. The toughest part of all of it is squeezing my 6 foot tall body with an abundance of fat in the area behind the front seats. Sitting in the fetal position is no fun.

Took bon-bon-blue to the German technical check (T‹V). The old girl passed with full points, making me very proud.

Well done.Great.

We have something like that around here in New Zealand too. We call it a Warrant of Fitness. A bit like Britain's MOT.

It's always a bit scary rocking up to the inspection. But driving away after a successful inspection... I'm sure the car has another 20 horse power LOL

Interesting exhaust...you don't have to do an emissions test in Fla?
I am in Az and with collector ins. have no issues either. I run a pea shooter two out on SSI's on a euro 3.0.
What ate behind those....headers?

Reinstalled Speedo after repair of broken ODO by Seattle Speedometer. Now I canít use the excuse, Gee officer, the hole in the dash must have been off by 10 MPH.

Now all I am left with, the Speedo only goes to 150.

I sure wish we had a MOT or inspection of car like some much of Europe. We have some real POS trash on the roads that need to be removed.
