Started right up after sitting for 4 weeks.

We fixed a lot of things that were dodgy on this car. My intention to bring it back to a more stock look is taking shape.

Fixed front signal/marker lights, one was brighter than the other
Fixed the H4 city/park lights
New used horns are loud now
Put a real hood badge on it, no more 917 hood crest sticker
Spacer on the three spoke wheel
Passenger side mirror installed
Fender oil cooler fan blades unstuck, functions now
Front nose piece to be welded on
Oil tank level sender replaced
License plate light harnesses fished out and tested

I drove my car for the first time in five years, did a lot of work to it recently.

Slight throttle stick that unsticks when gas pedal is pumped with a flick.

Acted like an unwanted cruise control.

Gotta fix this before road worthy.

Throttle stick happens for me too, only on first start up.

Since we are on lockdown..finally i have the time to strip the paint form my new set of 7&8th Fuchs.
I think i leave them polished only ...half a year black and half no paint at all;-)

Got in there to re-torque the bolts on the axle I removed and replaced after changing a boot a few weeks ago. Installed a new window switch and a new hood strut to keep the trunk open.

Cleaned up tail light housings and installed new gaskets. Spoke LEDs go back in next.

Monoject syringe, with slightly enlarged snipped tip, made laying a bead of 3M trim adhesive into the gasket channel clean & easy. Also makes it easy to place a clean / accurate bead on the housing lip. Off-label Bentley manual use to hold gaskets in position during adhesive curing.













Mounting M&K Active Exhaust pre-muffler and 1 in / out muffler and snugging up hardware...

It came from Seine Systems. It’s called the ultimate strut. Very simple to install.

Sticking throttle issue resolved for now. Had to tighten throttle bracket bolt under bent metal tab.




Took it out for a test drive, no more unwanted cruise control.



Targa top now sits in Ftrunk unfolded, but rests on brake booster. Need to rig something better than this seat cushion.

Installed the X-Faktory decklid grill to replace the fading plastic one and installed the 84mm Dansk sport. So shiny and nice

Lotsa goodness on this page of our favorite perpetual thread. I'm a big fan of the solid state DME relays. Also, that Quattro... Total droolfest.

I put the finishing touches on the rear bumperette delete / Euro crush tube install (new taillight housing gaskets and M&K Active Exhaust pre-muffler & 1 in/out muffler install) on my Gemini Blue 1987 M491 coupe.

Between the "bumperettes," (although we refer to them in the diminutive, there's nothing very "ette" about 'em), Euro crush tubes and M&K mufflers, she dropped 25+ lbs from her caboose.
