type number location
 

On early cases, the type number is on the horizontal just to the right of the fan, and forward of where the oil line comes out of the case...just to the left of one of the chain housing nuts. Is the type number for 2.7s and 3.0s in the same place? If not, where is it located...picture please? And can someone send me a link to the relationship to the type number and what the original engine might have been please?

type number is in the same place on all I think. I'm a little confused :confused: are you saying you don't have Waynes book :rolleyes:. there's a chart there with all engine types and years with specs.

let's take, for example, a type 911/52 engine ;)

that would be a 1972-1973 911E MFI engine.
