915 tran help!! hurth gears??
 

i bought a 915 last year it has a flipped ring and pinion.. i took it apart today to put new gaskets and seals since it has been sitting.. not a tranny guy but everything looks really nice insided i took some pics...
case is 915/02 machined for flipped ring..
looks like ring/ pinion was changed to 8;31 looks new!! im assuming i need to line up the lines on the ring and pinion??
is it common to have non of the gears match in number... some look after market .. hurth gears?? any info on that.. or the pics do gears look ok?
getting ready to install in my baja boloted to a northstar!! just not sure what i have???.. thanks

I wonder if you would have better luck getting some info by posting in the 914 forum?

Here is an article that indicates the 8.3:1 ratio was the stronger setup from the 911S.
