Is it just me, or does Ebay really suck? I'm so sick of not being able to get ahold of customer service and if you do, they ignore you and don't follow up. plus their fee's are outrageous. If they had even 1/10 of the customer service Pelican parts did, they's be great.

Hey Wayne, I think you should start another company called PelcanBay.com. do your own auction thing. Now that's an auction house I would stand behind.

Quite frankly Wayne, I am glad you are not a monopoly, or I would not be so quick to want to support your company. Enough of those out there already. You just keep doing what you are doing because it seems to be working.
As for E-Bay, there was a profile on the CEO and the company a couple of issues back in Newsweek. They appeared to actually pride themselves as being an ultra efficient, customer service oriented company. Not sure what your problem is, but keep running it up the ladder and make lots of noise. Seems to work where I work, (Fortune 500 size org) as the CEO even gets an occasional complaint and sends it down to be resolved. E-Bay is becoming a victim of its own success (hard to argue the numbers against all other .coms) In other words, be a pain in the ass, it works.

Guess I've been lucky - almost 200 transactions and I've not had to use customer service yet. Hope it stays that way ...

I had a bug with the email service and after emailing them, I did receive a response telling me what to do.
It came in a couple of days. Now, as far as account info and refunds I dont doubt them to be slooooow. I am more worried about the buyers and especially sellers I deal with. So far Ive had no real problems. One deal in which I thought I was burned on I relisted "accurately" because i didnt want the stuff and actually made a few bucks!

Nothing but good luck here. Have saved a ton on misc. parts and the P car was purchase #2 on Ebay. Got lucky when a near garage queen showed up at my front door (86 Carrera) for $4K under Blue Book. Parts purchased include H4s, Turbo Tie Rod, white face gauges ($29 and they are excellent), brushed SS threshold plates w/porsche crest ($60) and just today SS pedals set @ $51.
Despite luck on the car itself, I wouldn't do that again. eBay works for me!

Actually, my experience with Ebay has been much more positive than buying parts from Panorama, Rennlist members, or even Pelican members. At least you always get a photo of the part and the ability to screen the seller's reputation. I have had recent bad experiences with a Pano seller and a Pelican seller - the guys were flakes and basically dishonest. That said, I have had excellent experiences with some Pelican sellers, but the bad apples have made me gunshy. I have had no bad experiences with Ebay, but I only buy from long-time sellers with no negative feedback.

Don't get me wrong, I like buying things off of Ebay, I just can't stand their customer service when you do have a problem. The first time you have a problem and try to contact Ebay, your tune will change.
