74 Carerra Sport Steering Wheel

What is current value of a 1974 Carrera Sport Steering Wheel? This is the steering wheel that was only made for 1974/1975. Wheel is pristine with original leather. It has not been refurbished/restored.

Thanks in advance.

Hard to believe that one has not been restored. Looks like new. Since a good core runs between 150 to 300...and they cost about 300 to restore. I certainly would want at least $500...but I suspect you could get more if there is demand for an unrestored one.

Maybe the size is different but that looks the same as the wheel I have in my '78

I can never tell from photos, but the one on the '74 Carerra had a thicker grip and centers on the column while other versions are off center and turn in a slight elipse.

Yes. The wheel on the 78 is almost identical, but the horn button is not centered, and sits just a bit lower, and the grip is not as thick as thick the 74/75 version.

You are correct, this is the thicker grip 74/75 only. While the later wheel looks very similar, there are indeed key feature differences

It is the original 74 upgrade wheel for the base 911, it came standard on the Carerra. I have also seen pictures that were sent to me past 48 hours, atleast for those restored versions, the craftsmanship and fit not the same.
