The one thing missing on the 3.2 Clubsport: manual mirrors
I have always wondered why the factory didn't fit the 3.2 Clubsport with manual mirrors. Seeing they even deleted the passenger sunshade, the weight savings would be at least as much when one factors in the electric motors, wiring, switch, stalk and fuse.
Fast forward a few years, and the '92 964 RS has manual mirrors. A little observation, some parts, and presto, The One Part the Clubsport Is Missing: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This works only on the '87 - on mirrors. |

Very nice, presumably 2 of each part required?
Forgive my ignorance, how does the glass attach? |

The mirror attaches with a rotating ring, one reuses the mirror from the electric setup

The simple answer is probably cost, they didn't have to make a whole other wiring harness and mirror and build sequence in the line etc, someone I'm sure added it up.
