				Front end steaming

			Hey all,

Last couple days I have been out in the rain in my 911sc and have noticed the front end steaming when I get home. Specifically it seams to be coming from the passenger side front wheel well. Is this just heat from the oil cooler? Is this normal? thanks

May be a brake caliper dragging cause the rotor to get hot.

Oil temp, if below 185f, check your brake for dragging. Or your thermostat for correct operation.

Lines to the oil cooler are probably shut down in the winter. Was it after a race?

Just highway driving cruising around 110 kph / 55 mph, not real cold only about 8 degrees Celsius. I will check the brakes for rubbing. Thanks

Put the car up on the jack and spun the wheels. Little bit of friction from the pads on the rotors but I am pretty sure that is normal. Both sides seem the same and the steam seems to just come out from the right side. I will keep an eye on it.

When the steaming is visible check to see if the passenger side rim is warmer than the driver side. If the temps are out of balance you may have a brake drag issue.
