Anyone know of a good source for crush washers - for CIS

I have a hard time paying $1 ea from Pelican which is selling 'genuine' crush washers. However, when I went to two hardware stores, here in town, they didn have any.

Does anyone have a source for these aluminum crush washers - these are for the fuel lines at the fuel distributor and at the WUR. I've been changing my fuel lines and checking fuel pressures this week and I've had to re-use the old washers because the fittings that I ordered from unobtainium were the wrong size (my fault not theirs).

Thanks......Vern

Most folks just 'cursh' CIS... I know I have :)

You can buy in bulk from 1/2 dozen industrial places, but then you are talking like 500 qty. When I re-use mine I sand down any crushed edged lips on the flats and they work just fine. As long as they are flat they should create a new sealed lip. Of course, nothing is as good as brand new, but there is a decent solution for re-using these.

Bought mine in a 100 piece bag from Grainger.

McMaster Carr has everything you will need in the line of nuts, bolts and washers etc. except black metric screws. Love McMaster Carr!

x2 Mcmaster

I looked them up on Mcmaster and it looks like they've got what I need. However, there is a Grainger about 1/2 mile from work so I'm going to stop by there tomorrow.

Thanks all.......Vern

The Granger in KCMO is a shipping warehouse only. I think they are all mailorder or internet order.

8x12 copper is for the CIS fuel lines at the fuel distributor, not aluminum. i would like to find the copper ones in bulk. doesn't look like mcmaster carr has those. not at wrightwood either.

In my experience soft aluminum seals just as well as copper.

In my experience copper can be reused a few times, aluminum not.

Belmetric is great to do business with!

John and others, Here is what I bought. They have other sizes as well. Just need to know what the search item is called.

Grainger wants $2.42 for 25 8mm x12mm sealing washers. Shipped in 3 days. (under 10 cents each, I bought a few sizes and other stuff so shipping was spread out more.,... ) :)
Or, you could just walk into your local Grainger, order and pick them up to avoid shipping.

Metric & Multistandard Components Corp is also nice to deal with. I use them when I can't get what I need from McMaster.

You're welcome. I buy all the fasteners I need from them now If they stock them, anyway.
