Introducing my Super Creamy SC
Hello Porsche fans,
I have been a long time admirer of the 911 since my first book fair in grade school, and I got a poster of a yellow 930 turbo. I starred at that poster so many times I could trace the sultry shape of it by heart. Times have changed (though I can still trace it by heart!), but my lust for this car remained. When the time was right (and the funds), I set out to find my baby. It took about a year and a half and a half dozen PPI's for me to stumble on an ad on the Canadian autotrader. It was an 83 with 80k miles on her at a Porshe dealership called Mark Motors in the nations capital 4 hours away. I opened the line of comunication with the dealer and they were more than helpful in everything I asked. Talk about first class, I was allowed to enter the garage and look over her with a fine tooth comb. To top it off there was a Tech that worked there for over 20 years that helped me and told me what was needed and was wasn't. I put the deposit down that day (Feb 2012) and drove back home waiting for the weather to get better and the salt to wash off the roads. I didnt take long till I brought her home. Chiffon with chocolate interior http://i45.tinypic.com/35apycy.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/2m7f793.jpg The black in the wheels were faded and I knew this is were the slope begins. I started with stuff I can knock off easily. I sent her to my good friend to give her the Royalty Autospa treatment. After some love with a DE she looks creamy and shiney. Next step was the wheels and Carrera decal. I was looking for a color I could live with for a while and it came down to red. I'm sure you'll agree with the chifon color the red looks pretty damn clean. Orange was a distant 2nd. http://i46.tinypic.com/2ij0oqf.jpg http://i1304.photobucket.com/albums/...ps15a7f2d1.jpg Then the decal http://i1304.photobucket.com/albums/...psa3e3e4de.jpg http://i1304.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5872d436.jpg And done, thats is how it is to this day. I drove it all summer and put about 6000 miles with joy and privledge. She drove very tight and pulled hard. The gas mileage was excelent, way better than my 3 season car! (400hp biturbo A6!:D) I was lucky enough to score a free rental of a scissor lift for my garage so I can pull the motor and re-re some gaskets and hoses. As soon as I took the engine/tranny out I knew I wasn't leaving her alone. Cleaning this, replacing that, that slope could turn into a landslide if you don't fight back. http://i1304.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8e647eda.jpg http://i1304.photobucket.com/albums/...pse602a2b2.jpg Thanks for the last two years guys, you have filled my head with tonnes of info to help me understand her and love her even more. I'm sure I'll be posting some questions and some pictures soon enough. One last one! http://i1304.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0183e631.jpg |

Beautiful car - I've always loved the Carrera script, and it looks great on yours. Also, SCs rule.
|
I agree with OsoMoore, the Cerrera script looks nice. Enjoy your new ride.
|
sweet ride!
|
Congrats and welcome aboard! What are your plans for the engine - maintenance or performance upgrades or both? Looks nice - any ducktail (and front lip spoiler plans) as well? How's the interior?
|
Beautiful car!
Are you sure it's Chiffon, looks a lot like Light Ivory. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/DSCN0958.jpg |
Wasn't sure about the red fuchs till you put the script on the side. Now it looks really nice.
Welcome |

I like the original color scheme too - chiffon over chocolate is pretty nice. :) |
The script in red on your chiffon with the red centers looks great and is tied into the red in the tail lights... nice indeed!

I took the engine out because of the common leak at the oil pressure switch. And while its out I started to clean, paint and replace any seals that needed to be replaced. Right now while I'm waiting for the parts to arrive (thanks PP) I started to tackle the tensioner rebuild. I already have the Yellowbird front and rear bumpers, so thats a good start for exterior. Maybe a ducktail in the distance future. The interior has its typical wear but all original and still beautiful. |

It does depending on the lighting, but it is Chifonweiss for sure. |
Chiffon has really grown on me. Fun to see them pop up recently.

Looks great. I would consider painting the front and rear valences orange as well... Check out the creamsicle 914 which was a limited production tribute to Porsche's successful Can-Am days. Great color combination!

All thats missing is a 6 foot high unpainted double wing on the back!! Now that would be cool!
